If there’s anything I’ve learned from past ski trips, it’s that Uniqlo is the best place to shop for lightweight cold weather basics! Beyond my increased affinity for the Japanese clothing brand, I’ve also learned what the absolute necessities are for a ski trip and what can be left behind. Read on for my 13 essentials to pack for skiing.
Base Layers
One key to staying cozy during a ski trip is packing warm and lightweight clothes. By doing so, you’ll not only lessen the load that you have to carry, it’ll also make skiing and moving around in your layers of clothing much more enjoyable. To start, get your base layers from Uniqlo!

UNIQLO
1. Women Heat Tech Scoop Neck T-Shirt
Uniqlo’s lightweight heat tech base layers are tried and true for cold weather.
They can be worn inside anything, and some of the shirts (like this scoop neck one) are even cute enough to be worn on their own.

UNIQLO
2. Women Heat Tech Leggings
Similarly, you’ll want something lightweight to be worn inside your pants. Uniqlo has leggings made with the same technology that are perfect for this purpose.

LULULEMON
3. Lululemon Align Pant
If for some reason I haven’t sold you on Uniqlo’s heat tech leggings, yoga pants are a good alternative.
Lululemon’s Align yoga pants are soft and fit snuggly. Once you’re done skiing and want to stretch it out, simply slip off your outer layers and you’ll be ready for a quick yoga sesh!
Waterproof Snow Attire
Now that we’ve covered the basics, it’s time to talk about the outer layer. When you’re traveling to winter wonderland, one of the most important things is making sure your attire is waterproof.

ASOS
4. The North Face Reign On Jacket
When I’m thinking of buying new snow attire, North Face is usually the first brand I turn to.
But North Face’s website isn’t the only place to look for cute ski clothes. ASOS could be a better option because they’ll have done the work of picking out the cutest of the cutest that brands like North Face have to offer.

THE NORTH FACE
5. Women’s Apex STH Pant
As for snow pants, I think comfort and simplicity are the most important things to look for. I found my white snow pants directly from the North Face website and I’m loving it so far.

AMAZON
6. Arctix Women’s Snow Sports Insulated Cargo Pants
If you’re purchasing ski essentials for the first time, the cost can start to snowball quick 😉
Amazon has some more affordable alternatives for your first set of snow clothes, such as this pair of cargo pants.

ASOS
7. 4505 Ski Bomber Oversized Jacket
On the other end of the spectrum, if you’re looking to upgrade your ski attire, ASOS’s got some options to help you look super chic!
Of all the essentials to pack for a ski trip, waterproof ski clothes is probably the most important. Do not skip shopping for these skiing essentials!
Ski Accessories

AMAZON
8. Simari Touch Screen Glove Cold Weather
As I’ve already raved about in my NYC winter essentials post, these touch screen gloves actually work!
Not only will you stay warm you can also use your phone without having to take your glove off on the slopes.

AMAZON
9. Winter Ski Mittens
Similar to how you need weatherproof outerwear to go over your base layers, you’ll also want waterproof gloves to go over your slimmer, touch screen gloves.
These mitts from Amazon are a good option. Plus they are pretty cute!

BOMBAS
10. Merino Wool Socks
Ski and snowboard boots (but especially ski boots) are not the most comfortable things in the world.
That’s why having thick cushy socks will not only keep you warm, you can also make sure your feet doesn’t hate you at the end of a ski day.
Be sure to include a few pairs while packing essentials for skiing.

AMAZON
11. Ski Goggles
Ski goggles achieve a few different functions. They protect you against the sun, snow, and wind. You won’t want to leave these out of your essentials to pack for skiing.
I also think they’re one of the coolest things to wear while skiing and can pull an outfit together.
4. Comfy Clothes to Change Into
One thing I always remember to include in my ski essentials is a change of clothes for before and after I hit the slopes.

THE NORTH FACE
12. Beanie
Having a beanie is one good way to wind down from a day of extreme sports.
Take it from someone with experience: buy a beanie without a pom pom so you have the option of wearing it under your helmet!
Besides that, feel free to get creative with the beanie color and pattern that best fits your style.

SOREL
13. Snow Shoes
Prepare a pair of comfy snow shoes, and your feet will thank you after a long day of exercise.
Sorel is my go-to brand for snow proof shoes. They work and the brand is constantly coming out with new looks to fit different tastes.
